Yes, you read it right! Gamer is finally a lucrative career option in India. Things are changing quickly in India, gradually people are understanding the scenario related to gaming in India. As a result of this increased awareness related to gaming, parents are also supporting their child's dream, they are also perceiving gaming as a career option in India.
While other countries quickly accepted it to be a part of life, India was less inclined towards gaming. A career in gaming was not even considered as a viable occupation few years back. Gaming was considered as a hobby. But the things are changing quickly, once dismissed as unproductive by many, gamer is now slowly being perceived as a lucrative career option in India.
Remember how few years back people use to spend half of their life studying in order to get a degree that helps them to have a professional career in the field they wanted. And as a result most of them ends with getting a 9-5 job. While the scenario is completely different in pro-gamer's case, they might have the most fascinating job in the world. The major benefit of being a pro gamer is that they can work in their homes and more importantly they are not bounded by any time limits. Those who don't know what live streaming is, it is a form of online video broadcast on specialised platforms where that particular person play games and entertain his viewers. It is very popular now a days. A lot of people who are good in playing games have started doing live streaming.
But it is not easy to earn through live streaming, because when a Youtuber starts his channel he may find it difficult to attract viewers. The starting period of a Youtube channel is very important, this is the time which differentiates the successful and unsuccessful Youtuber. It is necessary for every Youtuber to have enough patience in the beginning because success doesn't come that easy, and those Youtubers who pass that difficult starting time with self belief and enough patience enjoy success and fame in their journey.

Another way by which creators earn is when, some of the viewers of the stream become a member of the channel by paying a constant monthly payment to the YouTuber in exchange of the payment, the YouTuber provide special benefits to the member. In addition to live streaming many gamers are also playing in Esports tournaments in their cities, colleges and at the national level organized by colleges or by private companies and even by the developers. Esports competition are also a hot spot for players as the prize money is huge. Monthly tournaments provide a scope for professional gamers to sustain a living. 2018 saw numerous companies invest heavily in esports by announcing multiple tournaments with prize pool of over INR 1 crore. The prize for winner in esports competition is usually high because organizers want to attract large amount of gamers for their event.
Recently Team Soul has won the PUBG Mobie India series 2019 tournament, the grand finals of the India Series took place in Hyderabad at GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium where Team Soul won a whopping 30,00,000 rupees! This is what I am saying various gamers across India are participating in these Esports tournaments with their eyes on the prize.
